Finca Punta del Lomo, San Miguel de Abona was recently the venue for the annual travel awards of British newspaper, The Guardian.
The weekend event took place in the south of Tenerife with one hundred professionals and travel experts from the UK, participating, including some of the most important in Europe. The vice president and chief executive of the Cabildo Insular de Turismo, Carlos Alonso, highlighted, “enormous promotional tool that a meeting of this kind brings, bringing together top executives from the leading British travel industry and allows us to further show the important attractions there are on the island as a holiday destination.”
Turismo de Tenerife made available to participants local transport and excursions, among other services. The investment in this group will be returned to the island in the form of advertising space in newspapers “The Guardian”, “The Observer” and www.guardian.co.uk. The participants have come to know during their stay some the most outstanding attractions of Tenerife. The programme of visits and activities included, whale watching, golf, kayaking, jeep excursions to Mount Teide, wine tour in the north of Tenerife, Masca gorge excursion and visits to Santa Cruz and La Laguna culminating in the gala dinner held at Finca Punta del Lomo, San Miguel de Abona which was chosen for an authentic Canarian experience.
