The Tenerife Cabildo held the launch for a book that looks at the scientific study of Canary wines.

Entitled ‘Aportaciones al conocimiento del vino’ by Sebastian Delgado Diaz, Professor and Doctor of Chemistry, University of La Laguna.

Tenerife Cabildo president, Ricardo Melchior stressed the importance of an event like this, “Because it highlights the progress and prestige that, in recent years Tenerife wines have gained, including being recognised both nationally and internationally.”

A number of writers have contributed to the book which is a compilation of various wine studies originating from the Canary Islands.

The first chapter of the book provides a summary of the main aspects related to the variables influencing the quality of the wines, it also includes a glossary of wine and wine history of the Canary Islands, plus describing the soil and its composition.
