Description: The restaurant La Lata del Gofio is one of the latest “not to miss” unique Canarian restaurants in El Medano. The owner is already very well known for his finest home made goat cheeses at the local market. Their specialty is of course Canarian goat cheese, from the most tender till the most tasteful, smoked cheese and fine Canarian tapas, served with local wines from Tenerife. Take place on the board walk of Playa Chica, on high chairs amongst the 4 tables and enjoy the fabulous sea view. This is the Canarian restaurant where you can savor the” today’s Canarian tapas” like “Ropa Vieja” or “Conejo en Salmorejo”, rabbit stew. Just ask what they have today! On Sundays afternoons you will be very pleased with the nicest ambient when all locals gather singing Canarian songs with the local guitar trio playing “Templete”. There are never enough tables so many just stands around with their glass of wine to participate and not to miss this unique moment! People even sing from the tables of the restaurant in font, Playa Chica.

El restaurante Canario La Lata del gofio no puede ser más autentico. Cada domingo vamos a pasar un buen rato cantando nuestros canciones y comer una buena tapita de ropa vieja con un vinito Canario. Estamos a pie de la playa Chica del Médano, en la cera peatonal, pasándolo de miedo de bien. Es verdad que sus quesos de cabra artesanales son famosos por aquí, se merece toda la publicidad del mundo. Las cosas de la tierra es lo que siempre sabe mejor.

Nicola Picciau was born in Milan in 1978, and from an early age he displayed a passion for cooking and working in kitchens, as was the family tradition, inherited from their ancestors. He first learnt his cooking skills from his Grandmother's farm in Sardinia, where he kept his large family happy with various Mediterranean recipes.
